I need to TALK
Thursday, November 1, 2007

"lufterz, would you like to explain to them the RGB concept?"

Everyone turned to look at me, expecting me to talk sense on the proposed item.

I stared at the powerpoint slide on the projection screen and then at my source of panic in shock. That obviously was not communicated beforehand! But when I saw that signature look on the panic source, I knew I had to just say something before the board decide something fishy was going on.

The following minute was unthinkable.

My panic source then panicked, and the ball was back in his court again.

That was NOT the first panic attack; it was my second... within a week.

Just last week, I backed out on a sales presentation SMACK RIGHT OUTSIDE the meeting room. And the RGB panic source had to pick up the pieces there and then.

FYI, I made pages and pages of preparations for the 2 presentations, but alas! Retard, or what.

"Talking" is almost the bane of my life at this current stage. I can get extremely illogical and incoherent talking to my closed friends, let alone presenting a 15 minute long proposal in front of a stat board committee. I will sometimes even lose my train of thoughts while talking. So I rather SHUT UP.

I really can't imagine what exactly the root of this problem is, 'cos I could never really understand what "stage fright" is all about years back when performing in the public was a piece of cake and even done on a regular basis.

I need to TALK... again.
